Independent Test Authority Verifies ThermaSkirt’s® Superior Efficiency Compared to Panel Radiators.
After independent comparative testing by the prestigious BSRIA at Bracknell Berks, the following summary & conclusions were reached:
“The Thermal comfort temperature pictures show that model 3 (ThermaSkirt®) has the most uniform distribution and the most acceptable level amongst all situations” *
Model No Min °C Max °C Room Ave°C
Radiator double convector type (on exterior wall) producing 800w 16.8
(cold spots) 29.3
(hot spots)

(even heat ±1°C) 20.2 (+13%)
*Quote & results table taken from BSRIA test report 51397/1
Facts:
A 4m x 4m x 2.4m room, with 2 external walls, and two double glazed windows, 1.5m x 1.0m & 1.0m x 1.0m, all with insulation ‘U’ values in accordance with Part L Building regulations and air changes of 1.5 per hour.
Comparison was made between a double panel convector radiator from a market leading manufacturer, and 15m of ThermaSkirt installed around the perimeter at skirting level.
Each system was supplied with 800w of energy, in accordance with the heat loss calculations of BS5449. The room target temperature was 21°C with an outside temperature of -1°C.
ThermaSkirt® achieved a higher average comfort temperature, evenly distributed throughout the room (20.2°C vs 18.2°C). This equates to a 13% efficiency improvement compared to the conventional panel radiator.
In addition, total temperature variation throughout the room with ThermaSkirt®, was 2°C or less. With the panel radiator variations of up to 13°C were recorded.
